The most popular items on our menu for those looking to ease into something new are: Pad Thai noodles (Thai) - this dish is easy to eat and made with your choice of protein. The noodles are flavorful without being too overpowering and it's got shredded carrots and onions for crunch. Lemongrass Skewers or Beef Teriyaki (Thai) - these street eats are our most popular for those trying Asian street food for the first time! The Lemongrass skewers are great if you're a fan of grilled chicken and the beef teriyaki is marinated in a sweet teriyaki sauce. We only use the best cuts of meat. No weird cuts of meat, only quality stuff here. Family-Style Platter (Lao) - our platters are staples in Laotian family dinners. The meats and skewers are meant to be paired with our Jeow dipping sauces and sticky rice, which is rice that's steamed in a basket meant to be eaten with your hands. How long does an order take at Sweet Basil MKE? Wait times average about 20-30 minutes on weekdays, but can increase up to 1 hour or more during popular dining times like weekend dinners! We will always do our best to ensure your order gets done by the quoted time but we appreciate and thank you for your understanding if we take a little longer. We are not a fast food restaurant, we make every order fresh. No food sitting in warmers, no frozen pre-made entrees. Does Sweet Basil MKE deliver? We used to deliver but have temporarily stopped offering delivery services for now. We had a 5 mile radius for delivery, but many orders would be for outside of our delivery zone causing our delivery drivers to be gone for lengthy periods of time and creating delays in other deliveries. Until we can figure out a better way to enforce the delivery zone, we will stick to curbside for now. In the future, we may offer delivery again if conditions are right. Does Sweet Basil MKE partner with third-party delivery services like UberEats, GrubHub, DoorDash, or Postmates? We do not have a partnership with any third-party delivery services. Choose from the menu below or we can help plan a custom menu. Sweet Basil MKE Catering Terms Catering order minimum: at least 2 trays and 48 hour minimum notice. Prices listed do not include taxes or fees. Pre-payment in advance required to lock in your event date. An 18 % gratuity is automatically applied to ALL catering orders. We do offer different service levels that you can choose from: Pick Up - you can pick up your catering order! Delivery Only - we drop off your order for a delivery fee. Set Up Service - we deliver and set up your order for an additional fee. This service depends on staff availability. Quarterly Donations to Causes & Charities Sweet Basil has donated to many charitable organizations since we've opened including the Milwaukee Rescue Mission, Hunger Task Force, and more. We will continue to donate a portion of our sales to local charities and organizations as long as we can sustain it. Sweet Basil's Susainability Plan what we are doing to help the planet Eco-Friendly Disposables : At this moment, 91% of all our takeout containers and materials are either compostable, biodegradable or recyclable, including: Our utensils Sauce cups Kraft takeout boxes Clamshells Banana leaves that line our containers Bamboo chopsticks Platter trays and lids Soup containers Napkins Paper bags Drink cups Improve Our Energy Efficiency Installation and utilization of a programmable thermostat Start-up and shut-down schedules for equipment to reduce the energy drain of kitchen equipment Greener Routine Promoting reusable water bottles within our team and staff, eliminating the need for single-use water bottles Sweet Basil will also run seasonal monthly specials created using ingredients that would otherwise go to waste. We always have a little extra herbs, veggies and meat after prepping each week so these specials are our creative ways to use up the rest of those ingredients while they are fresh while reducing food waste! It also elevates your takeout experience by recreating a dining experience at home. Letting us know preferences If you don't like onions or aren't the biggest fan of bean sprouts, let us know when you order! We can leave out certain ingredients, that way - you can enjoy your meal without having to pick through it and we reduce wasted food!
